About Me

George Watson is a graduate of Wilkinson High School, Claflin University and South Carolina State University. The following is a brief background from previous years: A Vietnam veteran, retired Clinical Counselor with the Department of Mental Health, retired Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve, Past Commander of the South Carolina State Guard, VFW District 9 Commander, VFW Post 8166 Commander. In addition to the above he is a Board Member of the South Carolina Employees Association (SCEA), member of the Orangeburg Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Coach for the City of Orangeburg Parks and Recreation for thirty-one (31) years.  He is married to Virginia Toney Watson and has one daughter (Shannon Ge’Ney Watson). He is a Deacon at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
